ICP-MS

As the cornerstone of our business, Chemical Solutions Ltd. (CSL) provides analysis through Inductively Coupled Plasma – Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS). This technique generally has less interferences than ICP-OES and is also faster than both Atomic Absorption (AA) and Graphite Furnace AA (GFAA) when analyzing for multiple elements in a single sample. Detection limits are usually lower than both ICP-OES and GFAA. Its productivity, accuracy, and precision at low levels, make ICP-MS the predominant choice for research, regulatory, and quality assurance applications.

CSL currently utilizes the following ICP-MS equipment:

  • Perkin-Elmer ELAN 9000 ICP-MS
    used to assay trace and ultra-trace elements at apart per billion (ppb) levels
  • Perkin-Elmer ELAN DRC II
    used to assay trace and ultra trace elements at ppb and lower levels specifically aiding in arsenic, chromium, iron, and selenium analyses
