all manufacturers of non-exempt electrical and electronic equipment and their components must comply in order to sell those products in an EU member state - California Waste Recycling Act
created CA’s RoHS law, which prohibits the sale of covered electronic devices in the state of CA (manufactured on or after January 1, 2007) if they are prohibited from being sold in the EU due to the presence of certain heavy metals.
