Regulations:
- Clean Water Act (CWA)
The CWA authorizes the EPA to regulate the discharge of pollutants into surface waters. The EPA has established pollution control programs which include setting wastewater standards for industry - Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA)
The SDWA allows for the regulation of all public water systems and their sources. Contaminant limits are determined by the EPA. - Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)
This act enables the regulatory programs that monitor solid, hazardous, and medical wastes and underground storage tanks.
